  Only stopped for drinks. But friendly staff and a beautiful locale.
  Food looked and smelled wonderful. Next time we'll stop to eat.

  Wonderful furnishings, and decor, good food, however poor service should be the only concern lowering the review to just three stars.
  
  Firstly walking in, we were greeted by the owner of the establishment, who responded to us in a rude and rather serious tone.
  
  He could really use some lectures on the values of customer service.
  
  As we were seated, the environment was gorgeous. Tables were neatly organized. It was a very posh dining area.
  
  The meal was served quickly. We requested their specialty burger which included a side Caesar Salad.
  
  Only concerns for the sandwich was that the chicken was slightly overcooked. It was an average tasting meal with nothing "extravagant".
  
  Caesar Salad was also standard.
  
  Overall, to finalize this review, a wonderful hotel, and restaurant, excluding the satisfactory customer service that the manager provided us upon our visit.

  We stayed on December 3rd overnight to see Christmas in Merrickville. The owner was EXTREMELY rude. We were on time, mid-afternoon. We asked a couple of questions about their rooms and it was like we were wasting his time. Sighing, rolling his eyes, curt responses and not giving very useful replies to our questions. If we would have had another option we would have left. Other staff were friendly and helpful.
  
  The inn had steep stairs to access rooms, fine for us but could be problems for other. We had a junior suite with whirlpool. Very nice old fashioned room. Too bad - I would never go back.

  The 1800s charm offsets the mediocre upkeep. This was a nice venue for our wedding, but the musty smell and apathetic staff were a letdown.

  It was such a massive disappointment .....the food was horrible, over priced and tasteless.... .the service was equally as bad ...I'd not recommend or return ..how sad.... I had expected a lovely , quaint, evening with Co workers and friends for Xmas ..the menu was literally a piece of paper with 6 boring sandwiches , 2 dinners and no wine list ..it was a party on a Saturday night!!! Not one person at our table ( a booking for 20) was happy with their meal I had a veggie wrap...for dinner! It was a bit of cold salad wrapped in dry bread ...the salmon dinner someone else had was dry and tasteless. ..the drink orders were all incorrectly delivered therefore numerous drinks were left on the table as they weren't not ordered by the persons they were delivered too....the only bonus was the server was such a mess she forgot to charge me for one of my beers ...I had beer in a bottle as she didn't know what was on tap, & ordering wine just seemed too complicated ...what a disgraceful evening our Christmas party was Saturday Dec 3rd . The merrickvile town party was on, too so one would think such a lovely Inn would rise to the occasion. ..guess the inn management didn't get the memo. .or maybe they just don't care...
